Derreck Haynes ’10 and Taylor Summerfield ’12 were married in Youngstown, Ohio, on Aug. 9, 2014. The bridal party included Brock Cosic ’09, Wiley Runnestrand ’10, Alyssa Bewley (Coundourides) ’11, Sean Gerin ’11 and Ariel Pund ’13. The new couple currently resides in Warren, Ohio. Derreck works at the Middlefield Banking Company as a systems training/development specialist and Taylor is in her final year of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Youngstown State University.
Aireka Wright ’10 has been hired to coach the volleyball team at Norton Schools, Norton, Ohio. Prior, she worked for the East Akron YMCA in the youth department as the teen and sports director, managing the volleyball program. Wright also previously served as an assistant coach at Firestone High School.
Kaylie Titus ’14 is women’s athletic director at Fuchs Mizrachi School in Beachwood, Ohio, and takes over as head volleyball coach. Kaylie, who also teaches physical education at Fuchs Mizrachi, was assistant softball coach the past three years at Hiram College.
Carly Kidner ’14 was crowned the 2014 All-American Quarter Horse Congress (AQHC) queen on Oct. 19 in Columbus. She will travel to AQHC shows across the country representing the congress and the quarter horse industry, including the Dixie National Quarter Horse show and others. In addition to her equestrian activities, she runs cross country, skis with her family and volunteers for Nellie’s Catwalk for Kids, a nonprofit that betters the lives of children who have cancer. She is preparing to attend law school.
Maneet Mahal ’14 was crowned Miss Solon U.S. International 2015 and will be competing in the statewide Miss Ohio U.S International 2015 pageant. To win her Solon title, Maneet submitted essays and interviewed with representatives from Miss Ohio U.S. International.
